Eligibility Criteria and Physical Standards For Punjab Police 



For Service Quota

1-Graduate of the recognized university.

2-3 Years of Service as Head-Constable or ASI in any functional unit

3-Only the Head-Constable or the ASI serving in the District Police on Permanent Basis/Serving in Borrowing Units/On Special Missions or Tasks are eligible to apply for the post of Sub-Inspectors on Service Quota. 

4-The officers on Deputation or Borrowing Basis are required to submit the Deputation or Borrowing orders at the time of the Interview.

5-The Service Certificate of the candidates which comes under the service quota has to be signed and stamped by the DPO/CPO or CCPO. 

6-Age should have to be between 23-35 Years

For Open Merit

1-Graduate of the recognized university

2-Height of Males should be 5.7 Foot ((170.18.cm) while those of females should be 5.2 Foot (157.48cm)

3-Chest For Males should be 33-34.5 while the chest is not measured in the case of females 

4-Visual Standards also imply distant vision should be 6/9 with or without glasses while near vision should not be less than J-1 both in the case of males and females. 

5-Age of both males and females should be between 20-25 Years.

What is the Salary of Sub-Inspectors (SI) in Punjab Police?

Sub-Inspectors are given 50% payment during the training over a period of 15 months while after the completion of the training, sub-inspectors are given a salary of 70,000 per month with all allowances such as rent, travel, and utility. 

How can Sub-Inspector Become SHO?

Sub-Inspectors upon the completion of the training have to serve in any Police Station of Punjab over a period of 3 Years and after 3 Years Sub-Inspectors are assigned the post of SHO.

Sub-Inspectors recruited in the Punjab Police are given the training of 15 months, 12 months at Police Training College Shaila while the other 3 months of the training are given at the Elite Police Training School Lahore. 1-One of the candidate has applied for the posts of Sub-Inspector in July 2019 and was got selected in June 2020 has told that he studied the PPSC Past Papers from 1990-Present and succeeded. However, most of the candidates read only the past papers of the past 5 Years. 

2-PPSC Test and Interview takes approximately a period of 3 months to get through, unlike the CSS that takes years of preparation. You need a minimum time period of 3 months to get through the PPSC Test and Interview for any post.
